Physical Science

I conducted a three week study on myself with the usage of Serotonin. Serotonin is a hormone also called 5 hydroxytryptamine. It has been proven that serotonin can change a persons mood. Serotonin can be found in the brain and act as a neurotransmitter for neurons. If serotonin levels are low than more than likely you are feeling depressed. In fact it is a one of many treatments for depression.

My clinical study began by a visit that I had with a Dr. Janis Jones. I often wondered why I was in a bad mood most of the time or my mood would go from being a good on e to being a bad one in such short of time throughout the day on an everyday basis. In turn Janis told me to go to a pharmacy and pick up a bottle of serotonin and begin taking it immediately. This study was for a three week basis with a collective weekly log.

Diary:

Week 1

I noticed that every day this week I was happy all during the day everyday. I felt calm and mellow. I did not experience road rage like I usually do. I did nice things without hesitation or huffing. I must say I had an enjoyable week.

Week 2

I am still taking the serotonin except i missed a day and it had and effect on my mood the following day after that. I find it amazing how missing one night of a missed dose affected my mood and thoughts for the next day. That day I was acting negatively and acted ugly towards other people. I am convinced that I needed to regulate my hormone levels in my brain because as soon as I began this hormone I changed my persona immediately. I realized that I had been depressed for a while now and did not know I was in a depression.

Week 3

One other change that I have noticed is that my body has adjusted to the hormone therapy and I am in fact losing some weight and my stomach is less bloated and I am becoming more active. I have the energy to wake up and go jogging or walking before my day begins. One good thing is that I have more patience for my three year old toddler. My eating habits have even changed for the better because I eat less portions of food and I don't eat as much during the day.

In conclusion I am very satisfied with the study and I plan on continuing my serotonin intake as part of a daily regiment. I wonder what else I could be missing! Hmmmmm

Social science

Sociopathic and Narcissistic Behaviors

I first discovered what the terms sociopath and narcissist mean from a Psychologist by the name of Dr. Janis Jones. The definition of a narcissist is that it is characterized as an emotional disorder that is well developed by early adulthood but is stemed from childhood. It is also referred to as NPD.The typical narcissist will suffer from the inability to empathize with others, an overestimation of achievements and skills, will have rage against others if critisized, and hides the real them.

The narcissist will often manipulate others, especially partners so they can control them. It is estimated that 85% of narcissists are males. One book that enjoyed reading is Malignant Self Love By Samuel Vaknin.

The word sociopath is termed as an Anti-Social personality disorder.

Here are a few characteristics:

1. Superficial charm

2. Grandiose sense of self worth

3. Pathological lying

4. Shallow affect

5. Impulsivity

6. Irresponsibility

7.Failure to accept responsibility for own actions

8. Callous

9. Lack of empathy

10. Promiscuous sexual behavior

What I learned is that as a parent it is my job to not spoil my child or to allow the my child to act in a negative way without consequences. I hope with this knowledge I can refrain from choosing a mate with sociopathic or narcissistic behaviors.
